Niagara Falls

Oct 29, 2012

I have a love and hate relationship with this place. On one hand it’s super tacky and over photographed, but on the other hand so much water flowing in one spot is totally fascinating. I love how on some days the falls look like they are pouring out of the sky and forming new clouds below. The turbulent river downstream is also fascinating, and the colours in the fall against the green of the water are always a joy to look at.

Find some clouds and a barn

Oct 9, 2012

The exercise is simple. look out the window, see nice clouds, get into the car and drive around suburban roads until you find some random barn or an area where tall trees are not in the way (a problem in many areas of Ontario). Hopefully if I keep it up I will have quite a collection of random barns or open sky. Not a radically new concept but fun to do nevertheless.

This raining rainbow cloud was interesting to. I hope all is well where the care bears live.

Also, Google Chrome seems to lack colour management (most installs out there do anyway). I’m not sure why this is, but it makes the browser useless for viewing anything but sRGB files. They also tend to over saturate on wide gamut displays. Because some images in the posts on this blog are tagged with color profiles in order to prevent clipping colours, here is a solution that is supposed to work. Please note that I have not tried this myself.
