Happy Holidays

Dec 14, 2014

It was a busy travel/shooting year for me and with everything else that has been going on, I did not devote as much time to keeping the blog updated as I would have liked.

I had the opportunity to create some new photographic content while abroad and hope to post some of the results in the coming months, including some thoughts on other topics I’m interested in.

Since this will most likely be my last post this year, I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season spent well together with family and friends. I leave you with a small mix of images and a quote by mountaineer Eric Shipton.

He is lucky who, in the full tide of life, has experienced a measure of the active environment he most desires. In these days of upheaval and violent change, when the basic values of today are the vain and shattered dreams of tomorrow, there is much to be said for a philosophy which aims at living a full life while the opportunity offers. There are few treasures of more lasting worth than the experience of a way of life that is in itself wholly satisfying. Such, after all, are the only possessions of which no fate, no cosmic catastrophe can deprive us; nothing can alter the fact if for one moment in eternity we have really lived.

-Eric Shipton

White house and a shack

Jul 22, 2014

I was spending some time with friends this past Saturday, and on our rainy ride back home we passed an abandoned white house and this storybook looking shack. I went back the following day to take a picture with the hope of returning a few more times when the weather is right. Perhaps one of those can become another series like the old barn.

Green

A few random shots taken while walking my dog. I find dog walks to be great for the unexpected photographic harvest.

John Muir Trust Video

Jun 27, 2014

I found this video a while back wanted to share it here. For anyone who does not know, John Muir was a Scottish-American naturalist and founder of the Sierra Club.
